Laptop with ATI Radeon_Mobility_7800_LX (IBM ThinkPad A31p). VGA on the back connected to Panasonic TH-50PH9UK. Attempting to use resolution of 1366x806 (panel native). With DDC enabled, logs show the mode reported, then discarded. With DDC/EDID disabled, the mode is still discarded. Override?

Same hardware pulls off these resolutions under Windows

you have mergedfb and zaphod mode set up in your config. you need to pick one or the other. If you want to use mergedfb, all modes you'd like to use need to be defined and listed in the first monitor and screen sections of your config. You may want to grab the latest git version as well as there are some fixes for ddc modes with crtc2 and mergedfb.

"Zaphod" style config no longer supported. Perhaps a message to that effect when old-style config setttings are detected is appropriate.

At any rate, not a bug.
