Description Robert Garron 2007-11-10 11:33:21 UTC
Hi - I am using:
Linux debian 2.6.18-5-alpha-generic #1 Fri Jun 1 00:16:02 UTC 2007 alpha GNU/Linux
trying to use gimp and it failed with a crash as:
debian:/var/log# gimp
Error: Cairo does not yet support the requested image format:
        Depth: 8
        Alpha mask: 0x00000000
        Red mask: 0x00000000
        Green mask: 0x00000000
        Blue mask: 0x00000000
Please file an enhacement request (quoting the above) at:
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=cairo
gimp: /build/buildd/libcairo-1.2.4/src/cairo-image-surface.c:155: _cairo_format_from_pixman_format: Assertion `NOT_REACHED' failed.
gimp: terminated: Aborted

I would like to know if this can be "enhanced" for this platform -- do newer versions fix this? and are they available to run on this platform?

All help is truly appreciated.

Mass closing of 8-/15-/16-/32-bit unsupported image formats as these should now all work in 1.6.0. Please test and reopen if you have any issues.
