the ati driver and radeonfb generally don't get along on x86. Your best bet is not to mix them. Also, you probably don't want ati 6.6.19x; that's a dead end tree. Better to use 6.7.19x or 6.6.3. Would it be sane to disable using fbdev if we're on x86 in the driver unconditionally? It'd probably save me a lot of pain of dealing with users who've misconfigured their systems. Ok, I'll work up a patch this weekend when I can actually use my ati card. Re-opening, retitling, and setting severity to enhancement to reflect where this bug is heading.
