Description Karel Clock Kulhavy 2005-01-14 11:58:53 UTC
The homepage at http://fontconfig.org/wiki says: "The current stable series is
2.2. The latest version is 2.2.3, which can be found..."
There are two possible meanings of this sentence:
1) The current stable series is 2.2. The latest version of the current stable
2.2 series is 2.2.3
2) The current stable series is 2.2. The latest (therefore not stable) version
of the fontconfig library is 2.2.3

This difference is very important for the user. Say I am a newcomer and want to
download the latest stable version. According to meaning (1) I go to
download directory with intention to download 2.2.3, however according to
meaning (2) I go to download directory with intention to download version 2.2.

Suggeste fix: Remove the original piece of text and replace either by (1), or
(2),depending on which meaning the author originally meant.

I clarified the wording a bit. If you have alternate wording, please feel free
to edit the page yourself
