I changed the file /etc/default/gub to:

cat /etc/default/grub
GRUB_TIMEOUT=5
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="$(sed 's, release .*$,,g' /etc/system-release)"
GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENU=true
GRUB_TERMINAL_OUTPUT="console"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rhgb quiet radeon.si_support=0 radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.si_support=1 amdgpu.cik_support=1"
GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY="true"

and ran:

sudo grub2-mkconfig

reboot

Same result.

What does 

glxinfo | grep "OpenGL renderer string"

say? If DRM version is < 3.0.0, you should make sure your kernel is at least
4.13 and then add 

radeon.si_support=0 radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.si_support=1
amdgpu.cik_support=1

to the kernel commandline.
