Hello Intel Graphics Driver Developers,
I'm one of the lots of owners of a intel chipset based tv settopbox. Here in germany these are often marketed as hybrid dvb/iptv ready solutions and are getting more common all the time. In my case it's a Sasmung SMT-7020S equipped with an slightly aged i815 chipset, but i know of at least some more models with the same scan converter connected to a dvo port of another intel graphics chipset, for example t-online vision s100/s101ci(i830) or Bose Zenega(i830) or Thomson xxx, etc.
Currently this particular scan converter seems totally unsupported in x.org drivers and people have to use either the propietary Intel IEGD Drivers or do some really hackish i2c commands to get a nice result. This is even worse as newest IEGD Versions don't support the older intel graphics chipsets anymore and TV Screens are the primary or only possible output devices.
So I would like to ask if you see any possibility to support the fs453/fs454 scan converters in a upcoming release, which would push linux on these boxes really a piece further.

Sorry for my bad german english !
Wilken Haase

It would really be helpful

Sorry, we don't work on 815 driver anymore. The best thing for now I think is keeping on old driver. And 815 spec is open, you may also find open datasheet for your encoder.
