Hi!

I'm using fedora 10 rawhide up to date running with KDE4.1.2. Today (10/2/2008), after a reboot, I noticed the icon of the packagekit working as usual (downloading refresh list, and so on *sorry for the rough translation, I'm using a french version).

But instead of displaying a alert icon (red circle), it displayed the icon corresponding to downloading packages and installing packages.

I have checked in the /var/log/yum.log file and here is what it showed :

The October 01 lines are from my initiative, so for the October 02 lines beginning at 14:45:41.

But the packages in the middle are completely out of my control.

I've checked the update manager which is set on manual installation.

One more thing : after this update, the icon get stuck in the "waiting for other tasks to finnish state". No process were running except the applet one, and yum was unlocked... I had to kill the applet myself to get rid of it.


I hope I've been clear, my english is not very good...

What's your automatic update settings?

Here is my updates settings as seen in the configuration tool (gnome-packagekit). 

Update Settings : 

Check updates :           [daily]
Automatic updates :       [nothing]
Check Major Updtaes :     [weekly]

Notification display : 

[x] when updates are available
[x] when a long task has finished

Right, this is where PackageKit gets the distro upgrades, which are stored in the preupgrade package. I'll add a package dep in d02cb8bb75f0d8fdc3311e66d174e92edfa8fd19 in git master. The next fedora version will bring this package in.
