PackageKit uses NetworkManager to get the network connection state. If falls back to legacy unix code if you disable the NetworkManager service. If you're not using Networkmanager, but it's still running, and instead using system-config-network PackageKit cannot know automatically? If you want to keep NetworkManager running just edit the file /etc/PackageKit/PackageKit.conf and change UseNetworkManager to false. |
