Description Charles-Antoine Couret 2009-01-28 15:55:40 UTC
I have NetWorkManager but it is already times disconnected. But I have Internet by system-config-network (on Fedora 10). And PackageKit refused update if I display the details of updates because I am offline... But if I update the system by the update button without details of updates (I display only the types of update : security, enhancements, etc., no the packages) PackageKit does the update. It's not normal because I have Internet online and a button refuse to update and no the other...

It refuse to actualize the list by the search on the repos because « I am offline »...

PackageKit uses NetworkManager to get the network connection state. If falls back to legacy unix code if you disable the NetworkManager service. If you're not using Networkmanager, but it's still running, and instead using system-config-network PackageKit cannot know automatically?

If you want to keep NetworkManager running just edit the file /etc/PackageKit/PackageKit.conf and change UseNetworkManager to false.
