I have the same error on evince 3.3.5, poppler/cairo (0.18.4), (L)Ubuntu 11.10.
There are lot of other PDFs rendered unreadable, e.g.: www.cs.ucla.edu/~rafail/PUBLIC/49.pdf

I experience this error, too. I can reproduce it with 0.18.4 and 0.20.0. But it does not appear on 0.12.2.

Can you guys still reproduce this issue with newer popplers?
Comment 5 arian 2014-02-19 08:08:01 UTC
It has gotten a lot better, but is still inferior to acroread. See screenshots

poppler 0.22.5-4
evince 3.10.0-2

I don't see anything inferior, care to elaborate?

He clearly didn't care to elaborate
