Description RanX 2010-03-16 10:55:40 UTC
Hi to the maintainers !

I didn't get PackageKit to work in Debian.
The usual way of configure, make, make install compiles the binaries
but it doesn't copy them to their correct path.

Executing "pkcon" always gives complaints about files missing.
The files got created and are present but they aren't copied to the right path.

As there's no proper manual on installation
or other documentaion which could give advices, how to get a working PackageKit in Debian, this issue should be fixed soon.

Best Regards

I think you want to try the distro packages.

Hello Richard,

a good proposal I would follow, if I knew,
where to find a package for squeeze.

I only found ubuntu .debs.
As it's never a good idea to use these for debian
I won't regard these as usable for me.

I'd be happy if you'd provide me with a link to .deb-files that fit my distro.

Anyway it will never be a bad idea to make Packagekit compileable for debian
as it is frequently used.

Hi there,
This particular bug needs additional information to fix the bug. Debian should have PK packages by now.
