I would like to request that a simulate or -s function gets added to pkcon. A function that simply displays what it would do if you actually ran the command, the same way aptitude -s does on Debian systems. I am aware that it does a simulation and asks if you want to proceed, but the way it is written is fairly useless when trying to call pkcon from a bash script and get information from it.

Are you able to write a patch for this? It should be a pretty simple patch to client/pk-console.co -- thanks.

Sorry, I cannot write a patch for this.  If its not written in Bash, PHP, Python or Java I am really quite useless (Except for filing bug reports). I came across the lack of this feature while writing an apt-url like implementation on top of pkcon.  Currently I have a "very" rough version using Zenity as the GTK front-end, with plans to write an xterm version and a Kdialog version (Appease everyone style). I am using Debian sid as the development environment and therefore have been using aptitude -s as a place holder where eventually I need to use pkcon simulate or -s.
