video with eclipse tabs artifacts

While hovering  active tab in eclipse, some strange lines appear, see attached video for details. Problem does not occur in uxa and did not occur before. Not sure what exactly caused the issue as last update pulled new:
- driver (2.20.19)
- cairo (1.12.10)
- pixman (0.28.2)
- gtk+2 (2.24.14)

I know and hate that bogosity so well. Something is wrong with the way the GPU is processing VUE, but I haven't found an acceptable w/a - other than only sending a single rectangle through the GPU at a time.
