I'm not sure what the bug is here. Most text fields I've ever used overwrite selected text. Here the scenario is, user is trying to insert/update existing text by moving the cursor using touch or mouse. In this case all the text after the cursor is “selected” and overwritten, user did not intend to overwrite. If there is 15-20 lines of text, in the process of updating the first line by moving the cursor using touch/mouse user will lose all the text. The same does not happen when hardware KB is used instead of onscreen weston-keybord. -- GitLab Migration Automatic Message -- This bug has been migrated to freedesktop.org's GitLab instance and has been closed from further activity.
