This pdf:

is not rendered correctly with evince HEAD (19/12/2006) and poppler 0.5.4

xpdf renders it correctly

This looks like a line-width problem.

Make zero width lines approximately 1 device unit.

The attached patch should fix the problem.

Confirmmed, the patch fixes the problem with that pdf using evince.
