Description Clemens Eisserer 2016-07-02 16:05:00 UTC
I experience frequent and reproduceable redraw-glitches running LibreOffice-5.1.4 on my Haswell-based Ultrabook under Fedora-24. These glitches go away when I switch the rendering backend to OpenGL. A video illustrating the issue is available at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TI-Lum0S_k As the glitches do not show up when running a screen grabber, I assume there is some driver-issue. X.Org X Server 1.18.3 Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 intel 2.99.917 (shipped with F24) KMS no compositor (xfwm / xfce)

Not to mention the rendering looks very slow as well. Can you build xf86-video-intel.git and attach its xorg.log? Mainly so I have a clear base.

seems to be solved with git, I'll file a bug against Fedora asking to upgrade the intel driver. by the way, what is the reason there are no new releases anymore? for distributions it must be a nightmare riding on git code...

Even if the reported issue seems to be fixed, SNA seems to be somewhat fishy even with GIT. From time-to-time I get repaint-glitches on my haswell-ulv based laptop, unfortunately too sporadic to reproduce. Things like windows which are white until something causes a repaint, scrolling artifacts in firefox, etc. Those things happen quite seldom and are gone when the application redraws contents - but I didn't observe it on earlier kernel+intel-ddx combinations.
