X.org starts (with the Composite extension enabled), then I run xcompmgr, the screen does some weird thing for half of a second and it crashes: diego@estel:~$ LC_ALL='C' xcompmgr error 8 request 155 minor 4 serial 158 Abortado (core dumped) Hardware is a 2xp3 via chipset. OK, the cvs changes of today fixed this. However. I don't know if I should close this bug, since it could be triggering a weakness in xcompmgr which would happen to have been hidden now with the cvs changes. I'll left this decision to others =)
I can sadly confirm that the problem still exists on today's CVS (both xorg and xcompmgr) on a p4 2.66 mobile ATI IGP 340M on a side note: running a GTK app alongside QT apps on KDE seems to make it crash faster... tried it with both Xchat and firefox
(In reply to comment #5) > I can sadly confirm that the problem still exists on today's CVS (both xorg and > xcompmgr) on a p4 2.66 mobile ATI IGP 340M could you test again with a recent xcompmgr checkout? several crashes have been fixed recently.
http://freedesktop.org/~xapps/release/xcompmgr-1.1.tar.gz we should never be crashing on XError anymore. please test with the newest release.
works for me, closing. please reopen if this is still a problem for you with the latest release.
