When my Kubuntu Gutsy 7.10 updated from ati driver 6.7.192 to 6.7.193 X failed to start after that. It looks RandR 1.2 drivers don't like multiple boards. We got a bug report [1] in Debian about the same backtrace with ATI 6.7.193 + a MGA driver on Xserver 1.4. The problem does not occur with a non-RandR 1.2 driver (ATI 6.6.3). From what I heard so far, it might take time to get this fixed... [1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=443274
I reverted to driver 6.7.192 and problem went away. Is there anything how could I help to fix this issue? Can I provide more info or something?

FWIW, the backtrace is the same in bug #12295 (tried zaphod mode on 1 card).

6.7.194 doesn't seg fault anymore but with 194 all founts are zillion times too bi g and my kde desktop didn't like that. Can't login to kde anymore, i'm off to reinstall and then if problem doesn't appear I'm closing this.
