 - HP nw8240 laptop with ATI FireGL V5000 PCIE
SW: 
 - Kubuntu Hardy
 - using driver 6.7.196+git20071214+atombios-support-0ubuntu0tormod
   provided by https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XorgOnTheEdge

When KDM should start, I just get more or less blank screen with some vertial colored stripes. Regular ATI driver (6.7.196-2) works without problems on this system.

Alex, thanks you very much for a quick fix. Have tested new ubuntu package version  6.7.196+git20071218+atombios-support-0ubuntu0tormod and it works now. I have attached Xorg.0.log from working driver now if you need it for the reference.

Just to let you know: AtomBIOS version now gives me proper AIGLX support and can run KDE4 desktop effects! There are bugs (not sure if driver or kde4 implementation), but I can get basic stuff working!
