Description Stefan de Konink 2008-03-04 13:44:45 UTC
The when enabling the NoDDC option I am able to go back to the console without problems. The actualy problems issuing the NoDDC option:

1) DVI screen is not detected
2) The wrong mode is selected (Modes is completely ignored)
3) By xrandr I am able to go to 1280x1024 (from 1024x768) but the DPI values seem to be influenced in another way (or not at all, resulting in oversized fonts)

My first experience with the Radeon driver resulted also in HUGE fonts, I think this has to do with an non or improper setup of the monitor.

Why use the NoDDC, because one cannot go back to the VT, resulting in a blank screen.

Is this still an issue with a newer driver (6.9.0 or newer)?

closing due to lack of feedback.
