In single head (integrated Intel 915) configuration, video works fine. When the same system is reconfigured for dual head (integrated Intel + radeon or Intel + rage128 ) X fails to start. The error messages given are: (WW) R128: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:5:9:0) found (EE) Screen 1 deleted because of no matching config section. Although this problem happens on 7.1.1 (from Fedora 6) it also happens on 7.2 (from Fedora 7 & 8). Steps to reproduce 1. Create a working configuration. In my case a HP Compaq d530 with Integrated Intel 915 graphics. 2. Install a radeon or rage 128 card. 3. Configure xorg.conf to use "separate desktops" 4. Try to start X. Notes: Although the above configuration fails, many other combinations of hardware have been tried. One system was a HP Compaq dx5150 which had integrated ATI video and then I tried installing a second ATI PCI card. I have also tried NVidia + ATI and Matrox + ATI. All 2-card configurations feature an ATI card fail.

Is this still an issue with kms?
I haven't tried with KMS, but as I understand it, this is really more of an xrandr problem. I think xrandr still does not support multiple GPUs.
