Description Adam Jackson 2004-11-22 13:24:16 UTC
XGI has a semi-closed driver for their Volari chips, available at:

http://www.xgitech.com/sd/sd_download.asp

The kernel fbdev component appears to be under an open license, as does the DRM
component. However the DDX and DRI components are provided as binary blobs.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has contacted XGI about opening their drivers.

2D driver source ball at:

Code drop from XGI is in bug 2761

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 2761 ***

I would prefer to leave this open until we have both 2D and 3D driver support
for XGI chips. Their code drop is 2D only.

closing this one as well. xgi 3d support looks like it'll be a logical
extension of the sis support, assuming the NDA works out.
