Created attachment 22219 [details] First start - Overview window I use awesome window manager [1], which, basically, has two modes, where are windows handled as tiled and floating. In floating mode they are all taken as floating (surprising), you can imagine it as a in GNOME's Metacity - you can move your windows where ever you want. But, in contrast, in tiled mode are all non-dialog windows treated as tiles and ordered on the desktop in non-overlapping manner. So, and now about PackageKit :). Consider this scenario: • start Overview window of Update Manager (is now tiled) [att #1] • [Review] Review window (tiled) [att #2] • [Back to overview] Overview window (*** floating ***) [att #3] • [Review] (tiled) It'd be very helpful if the window in point #3 is also tiled. I remember there are special names in X11 terminology for such behavior, but I am unable to recall it from memory right now, so I call them 'normal windows' (tiled) and 'dialogs' (floating). -- [1] http://awesome.naquadah.org/
