Description Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn 2009-03-23 09:18:50 UTC
Spin-off from bug 13533 comment 24

Using xf86-video-ati 6.12.1 and a Radeon Mobility X700 (rv410), if I enable R4xxATOM then the LVDS and VGA-0 will always show the same content, and the CRT will always be driven at 1280x800 resolution (the LVDS native mode). Setting other modes in xrandr has no effect.

If I change the monitor layout eg. with xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of LVDS then both displays show what LVDS should show.

can you attach your video bios?

(as root):
cd /sys/bus/pci/devices/<pci device id>/
echo 1 > rom
cat rom > /tmp/vbios.rom
echo 0 > rom

vbios.rom

Thank you very much for the quick response, the problem is fixed now. I have attached the vbios.rom in case it is still of interest.
