when running X in a true dualhead setup, ie. with two separate displays :0 and :1 (radeon M9 on 1GHz powerbook G4) it continuosly eats memory such that in the end (after a couple of days) it takes like 800MB and the machine needs to be restarted because of that. this memory - leak existed already in xfree86 4.3 times resttest.c did not show any memory usage except than a couple of megabytes...
Created attachment 1826 [details] xorg config with which to reproduce this behaviour
Does the memory leak go away if you turn off accel?
no, it is still there even w/o accel
Are you still experiencing this issue using a modern version of xorg?
yes, but I've found out that it only appears when I use evolution... so evolution -via xorg leaks memory... even if I close/kill evolution the memory is taken and listed by xorg not sure whether this is a bug in xorg though...
