Xorg.0.log (from the opensuse 11.3 version)

With a multi head setup with one display on HDMI and another on DVI,
user mode mode switching and text mode in 80x25 VGA text mode:

When I switch to the text console and then switch back to X there's just
an empty text mode screen on both displays. The X server still runs, but
no graphical display. I have to restart the X server to get the
graphical display back.

This happened with both the opensuse 11.3 radeon driver
() and a recent git of xf86-driver-ati (as of Jun-20), running on a 2.6.34
kernel.

This problem seems to be related to xcompmgr

It went away when I stopped using that. That also fixed a couple of other issues, like text corruption in firefox scrolling.

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not
obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
