Description Ori Bernstein 2010-10-09 15:16:54 UTC
I recently got a Radeon 5750 (Device ID: 68be) to replace a dead graphics card. It seems that on freebsd, dual monitor modesetting is broken. The secondary monitor (on crtc 1, according to xrandr) is garbled.

The secondary monitor's contents are recognizable as a rather pixelated copy of the first monitor, offset and wrapped around, and broken into squares, with the colors seeming to bleed across horizontally. A picture describing this is attached.

This was also broken on xf86-video-ati-6.13.0, although I believe that it merely showed a black screen for the secondary crtc.

What version of the ddx are you using? git master?

I'm using the X server built from the FreeBSD ports tree (1.7.5), with drm and xf86-video-ati modules built from git. Should I try building the server from git as well?
Comment 5 Alex Deucher 2010-10-10 17:01:46 UTC
No need to rebuild the xserver.

Ok, so I won't. Is there anything else I should try/any other information that would be helpful?

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not
obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
