after upgrading from 6.13.1 to 6.13.2 my terminals became much slower when rendering text and when moving with cursor. (Eterm with backround image) gentoo, xorg-server 1.7.7-r1, libX11 1.3.4, ati radeon HD3650.

dont know to decide it. i put Option "EXAOptimizeMigration" "off" into xorg.conf and nothing changed. also no KDE here - e16 wm and Eterm. another symptom is that audacious vizualization plugin becames jerky when CPU starts compute something, eg gcc compilation. this was not the case before.
Even if I noticed this slowness in my limited testing (=use system as usual), i just moved away and sink into another adventure without investigation. Sorry for this. I'm using Eterm + e16 too, (not with radeon, right now) but i think Comment #4 from Alex Deucher is right - i surely have bitmap fonts in my Eterm .... Guess we both can move into tracking 30679 ?
(In reply to comment #6) > Guess we both can move into tracking 30679 ? from what i understood 30679 has workaround by Option "EXAOptimizeMigration" "off" which is not my case. does it work for you?

Currently I using different driver on different hw (nouveau with GF6200). But I also use X server from git, usually master and now - 1.9 branch with one commit reverted (workaround for broken mouse handling in some games). In different X server versions "EXAOptimizeMigration" was on or off by default (may be some distributions turn it on, too ?), i think in my case it is off. Also, i'm on AGP box, so speed difference can be bigger in my case (compared to PCI-E guys).
>i think in my case it is off. in such a case it looks probable this is a dupe.
