When downloading LibreOffice Beta 2, Microsoft's Internet Explorer 9 (beta) informs me the download may harm my computer because this file hasn't been downloaded very much. Most likely this is because Windows is playing "big brother" and wants explicit information to "know" the download is OK.
Windows wants to have a "certificate".
One for tml?
Re-assigning to my Novell persona.
We are aware of this issue but it is more complex than you might think to have a signing infrastructure that actually makes sense and is safe. After all, signing could also be used for malicious purposes. (To sign malware.)
Assigning back to list as I am not working on this, and acquiring signing certificates etc is more of a TDF level task anyway.
Last week TDF obtained a code signing certificate. I tested it and it works.
LibreOffice 3.5.3 Windows installers will be signed by The Document Foundation.
