document with problem object (inserted slide of presentation)

It is text with inserted page of presentation in it. When I double click on it, it looks ok. But when I click on other text, it becomes wrong.
Document was created in MSoffice 2003 and it is one page of initial document.
It behaves the same on windows 32 and on Linux 64. On Libre and Open office.
Comment 1 sasha.libreoffice 2011-03-10 05:44:11 UTC
It is because in Libre Writer function Crop Object is not implemented. All word documents with cropped objects will look wrong.

To reproduce this problem:
Start MSword and PowerPoint.
In power point select some background to slide.
Drag and Drop from PowerPiont (slides on left) to Word.
In Word select dropped object and crop it.
save document in Word

In Writer this document appears with not cropped object. Reproduced on LibreOffice 3.3.1.2
Comment 2 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2011-04-15 08:55:22 UTC
Seems to be [reproducible[ with "LibreOffice 3.3.2 – WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (Build:202 / tag 3.3.2.2)]", pls. see my screenshots.

Problem disappears when I copy/paste Presentation object from sample document to a new DRAW document.

@sasha:
No idea what's "ok" and "wrong" for you. Can you confirm view in my screenshots?

@Céedric:
I believe it's a bug because it's shown correctly in DRAW?

demo document with crop object problem with screenshot inside

I have created document with explanation and screenshot inside. It demonstrated tihis problem more simply.

And I think that title for this bug:
   Functionality request: crop of OLE-objects in Writer
is more informative, but can not change title of bug. Please, change.
Comment 5 A (Andy) 2013-05-05 12:29:28 UTC
reproducible with LO 4.0.2.2 (Win7 Home, 64bit), compared with MSO 2007

I don't see any owner at all. Not sure why this is on a assigned. Setting to NEW.

Dear sasha.libreoffice,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
