Different 3D xapps like ppracer and neverball fail at me with the following error message:

X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
  Major opcode of failed request: 137 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
  Serial number of failed request: 16
  Current serial number in output stream: 16

using org-x11-server-7.6_1.9.3-132.1 and
  and xorg-x11-driver-video-7.6_187.3.

Make sure you've fully removed fglrx if you were using it as it replaces some shared libs with it own versions.
