Hello everybody! Current setup: xorg-server-1.10.4 xf86-video-ati-6.14.2 Sapphire HD 6850 BARTS When DPMS kicks in (no matter what mode, e.g. standby, suspend or off) my monitor's back-light switches off and then on again. The cycle repeats endlessly. Example: sleep 1; xset dpms force off Then my monitor goes black and a message appears stating "no input signal". Then the back-light switches off. But after a second the monitor restarts as if the status had changed (e.g. signal had returned) and the back-light switches on again. Next comes the message again "no input signal". Repeat repeat repeat. I also check if changing the power_method (dynpm vs. profile) makes a difference, but it doesn't. I have a HD 3200 on-board. When that card is enabled instead, DPMS works fine. Thanks for taking a look! Kind regards Sebastian

It looks like you have your card attached to a TV. Some TVs periodically probe the their inputs which causes hotplug connect/disconnects. This should be fixed in kernel 3.1 and the latest 3.0.x stable images. Might be a dupe of bug 38030.
Hi Alex, I'm using latest stable, 3.0.4. It is a TV, kind of, as it does have a DVB-T card integrated. But I'm connected to the DVI port of the monitor. And with my on-board HD 3200 the issue doesn't appear. Thanks for the swift reply! Kind regards Sebastian

And with my > on-board HD 3200 the issue doesn't appear. Can you try 3.1? I'm not sure the patches have made it into 3.0.4 (i.e., they may end up in 3.0.5).
