Ok, finally I found this bug. There appears to be something wrong with the saving of the document. Olders documents don't show this problem.
Could you attach any example documents to allow others to check on different system/build?

Can't confirm any longer. On a refresh of the embedded OLE formula (with TNR font) the OLE bounds/viewport expand and the hats are not clipped. Nor are new formula OLE (with Liberation Serif font) clipped.

I confirm that if I double-click to edit, the hats become visible, but the bottom of 'j' becomes slightly cut off.
