Created attachment 85648 [details] dmesg when getting regular lockups Ive tried kernels from 3.8 to 3.11 and Mesa from 9.0.2 to 9.2 and have the same set of problems. They are intermittent, ie, sometimes the open-source driver works (like now!) and others it doesnt (like my previous boot 30 minutes ago!) It seems to fail approx 4 out of 5 times or so. When it doesnt work, it seems to fail in in 2 different ways: 1) regular gpu lockups (every 10 seconds) - machine is unusable 2) a single gpu lockup early in the boot which prevents dri and 3d accel, but can use 2d X When is works ok, i have no gpu lockups and 3d accell works fine. I will attach some logs.

with a 3.11 kernel does enabling dpm help? Append radeon.dpm=1 to the kernel command line in grub.

I'm having similar problems which I think have the same cause (also a Llano APU). In my case it doesn't work at all though. 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Sumo [Radeon HD 6410D] processor : 1 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 18 model : 1 model name : AMD A4-3400 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
