simple data range to perform creating a chart

Problem description:
When creating a chart in calc, selecting a chart type is ignored, and the cursor goes to top. Repeating the process continues normal.

Steps to reproduce:
1 Select data range.
2 click insert chart button or with menu/insert/object/chart.
3 Select any type of chart and the cursor goes back to the first type of chart and doesn't apply to the chart.
4 Repeat selecting the chart type, and now it does apply the selected one.

Current behavior:
selecting the chart type in the editing window doesn't apply to the chart. Need to repeat selecting, and is abnormal.

Expected behavior:
Selecting the chart type the first time it should apply the chart type to the graph.

Hi, I could not reproduce using version 4.2.4.2 under Ubuntu 14.04. Have you tried to reset your profile as advised in bug 74409? Sophie

Hello. I test it on Windows 7 Home premiun, in a AMD desktop PC, with LibreOffice 4.2.4.2, and it works fine.

Also test it again in Wondows 8 and I could reproduce it.

During the day I will run test on other laptops and pcs that I have al home and work. I will try to reset the profile in the win 8 laptop.

Hello, again.

I tested it on Win XP Pro and in 3 pcs, and in one of then I could reproduce the problem, so I renamed the user profile to reset it and the problem was gone.

I have done the same in my Win 8 laptop and the problem is not present.

But... all my extensions and user configurations were lost. So I had to reinstall them, and reconfigure my toolbars and other preferences.

After the reinstall and reconfiguration of my preferences, I tested it in my laptop and the pc and there was no problem.

What can it be in the user profile that can afect the perfomance of a dialog window making it fail?

There is something in there, that is not refreshed in the installation process or the update process from one version to another?

From the final user point of wiew, this problem should not happen.

What do you think?

Hi Robert Gonzalez MX,

Thanks for tests with a new profile.
Settings can differ from one version to another and cause these disagreements.
Remmember that give a new profile can fix unusual problem.

Regards,

Jacques
