Description Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2014-06-26 01:42:34 UTC
As an additional feature to the right-click toolbar menu option i suggested in bug 78525, it would be great to be able to set the icon theme and icon size used in the toolbar, rather than going into Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View.

Why? People do not change those parameters every day.

Well its not about whether people change it or not every day, its about having it in an easily accessible place that many users would think it might be in for when they do want to change it. I personally have gone into Tools > Options a few times and have forgotten where it is located and then wasted time looking for it.

-1 please do not add more menu stuff. LO is totally overwhelming to users already. We should instead reduce.

My proposal to solve this problem: When an Icon Theme is changed in Preferences > LibreOffice > View instantly change Theme in LO without requiring to confirm OK.

* users instantly see the theme and can make a decision much faster, which theme fits their needs best

Click "OK" > keep latest selection
Click "Cancel" > revert to theme which was initially selected when dialogue was opened

Not sure if you understand that presently there isnt a context menu for the empty space in the toolbar, so there isnt any more stuff being added to the menu. :)

I think that if your suggestion could also be achieved, it would be great, but doesnt solve the underlying problem of having to go into the Tools > Options dialog, which most users do not do. Also recently someone from QA or design was wondering why isnt the theme in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Appearance as he kept having difficulties finding it.

Maybe create a new Dialog to merge the UI options such as the toolbar modes, the icon sets and icon size.
