This is on an athlon-xp, linux system, kernel 2.19.1. ,cheers
Oh, the card is a radeon 7200.
I am getting this *exact* crashing with my ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon AGP (Radeon 7200) on an Athlon 1Ghz.
must have something to do with the card not having CRTC2 .. I have no cards which suffer this problem, I'll see if I can see anything..

Can you try again with latest git?
Recompiled the ati driver with the latest git (few minutes ago) and it seems to now load but on 3 different monitors... I keep getting "Out of sync" modes on my monitors so I can't see the screen to see whats happening. I have it set in my xorg.conf file to do 800x600 at 16bit color depth. I even tried re-creating my xorg.conf file from scratch (using X -configure) and it still keeps showing out of sync modes on my monitors. After reviewing the Xorg log, it seems to set the resolution/frequency to some insaine value. Any ideas? This is a pre-release version of the X server from The X.Org Foundation.
