These are the errors I find in the logs.

I'm running on a fresh install of openSUSE Leap 42.1 with a Radeon 6850 card with default kernel (4.1.13-5) and open source drivers. The issue is when I resume from suspend. After about 5 seconds of normal operation, the system just hangs completely. I cannot switch ttys, but I can do ALT + PrntScrn + REISUB. The only way to be able to use the machine is to do a full power cycle.

I tried the latest kernel as of today for Leap 42.1 (4.4.0-3.1.g75554c0) and it experiences the same problem, but even worse. The system hangs randomly at anytime.

I also have an Ubuntu 14.04.3 install on another partition with kernel 3.19.0.43 with fglrx drivers, and it also experiences the same issue.

I've attached parts of the relevant output from journalctl.

Please attach the full output of dmesg, or at least more drm/radeon messages before these.

Did this work before, e.g. with an older kernel?

Sounds like it might be a different / additional problem, which would need to be tracked separately.

That's most definitely a separate issue, which would need to be tracked in an fglrx bug tracker.

I only tried the default kernel that came with Leap 42.1 to see if Ubuntu might be the problem.

In regards to Ubuntu, I always had the same problem on kernels as low as 3.13 with open source drivers. I only recently installed fglrx to see if this was fixed.

Full log as requested (kernel 4.4.0-3.g75554c0)

In this log I suspend the system, then resume two hours later with a complete hang after ~5 seconds.

Complete crash dump Ubuntu 14.04

I purged the fglrx drivers from my Ubuntu 14.04.3 (kernel 3.19.0.43) install to give the open source drivers another shot. No change, same issue. Here's a complete crash dump of Xorg after the hang that Ubuntu generated for me.

Note: it's a relatively large file so search for "GPU lockup" or "ring 0 stalled for" to find the errors.

Journal of Fedora 23 crash

Tried out Fedora 23, fresh install. Still locking up on resume. This time with kernel 4.2.3

I will update the system and report back if any updates help.

Journal of Fedora 23 crash (kernel 4.3.3)

Still no luck with most up-to-date Fedora 23 with 4.3.3 kernel. Full journal is attached.

Has there been any progress made on this bug or has it not been looked into yet? I'd appreciate any update because my workstation computer is affected by this.
