I downloaded xquartz a couple weeks ago, and everything was running find. Then randomly, when I try to open it from my applications or open it from terminal, it starts to open then crashes. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but the same problems happens. I don't know why it stopped working. I didn't make any changes to my computer. I am running off of a Macbook Pro with yosemite.
Attach the crash log.
so i type the command: /Applications/Utilities/XQuartz.app/Contents/MacOS/X11.bin xquartz app symbol will pop up for a second then disappear. I am not super computer savvy, so I am not sure how to get the crash log
That is not how you should open the application. Just launch the *X11 client* application and let it start the server (eg, run 'xterm'), or launch XQuartz.app through Finder. Crash logs appear in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
I installed it but it will not run and says wrong version then that the update is designed for OSX Leopard only.
mlokun, it sounds like you installed the wrong thing. Closing this as there seems to be no real issue here.
