Description Michal Suchanek 2007-01-06 10:26:25 UTC
I can no longer build the mga and ati drivers after the "Use the
XORG_RELEASE_VERSION autoconf macro." change.

The drivers now use PACKAGE_VERSION_MAJOR, MINOR, and PATCHLEVEL which are not
defined.

Trying to build on Ubuntu. It looks like I do have the required auto* packages.

ii autoconf 2.60-1 automatic configure script builder
ii automake1.4 1.4-p6-11 A tool for generating GNU Standards-complian
ii automake1.7 1.7.9-9 A tool for generating GNU Standards-complian
ii automake1.8 1.8.5-5 A tool for generating GNU Standards-complian
ii automake1.9 1.9.6-4 (default version)

You need (xorgversion.m4 from) util/macros 1.1.5 or from git.

I wonder if this could be more obvious.

The failure occurs after configure is run so there could be a check.

Or it could be mentioned in the auto* tool requirements on the wiki.
