Updating to XQuartz 2.7.11 causes RStudio (https://www.rstudio.com) to freeze
   - RStudio fails to complete booting
   - I suspect (but cannot verify) that tcl/tk might be part of the problem.

The previous release (2.7.10) was perfect.

What exactly happens?  Can you provide console output?  Are there any crashes?  Can you take a spindump?

OK,  I just reinstalled and was **unable** to reproduce the problem!!!

I’m not sure what (if anything) has changed.

I suspect (a guess)  that maybe some global variables (e.g. DISPLAY) stayed inappropriately set after installation.
This time, I made sure that I took the precaution of logging out and in again after installing 2.7.11, 
That’s what makes me think that maybe the variables got reset properly when I logged in again.

Please retract my bug report. Mea Culpa.
It seems to have been resolved.
