Hello everyone,

I'm very excited to get Xquartz working so that I can use Inkscape by way of Macports.

After installing Xquartz, I've been struggling to get it working. First I determined that the appropriate daemons were not running, so that was fixed after "switching them on" and restarting.

As it stands, these are running:
/Library/LaunchAgents/org.macosforge.xquartz.startx.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macosforge.xquartz.privileged_startx.plist

And $DISPLAY is this:
/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.G3kzoK0owG/org.macosforge.xquartz:0

I have attached log output for investigation purposes.

Thank you. Looking forward to discussing.

I suggest you ask for support on the x11-users mailing list. My guess is that you've got a ~/.xinitrc file that is mucking things up.

Hey there,

My ~/.xinitrc exists, but it is empty. At any rate, I will try my question there instead.

Are you suggesting that there is no bug here, just user error?

If you hae an empty ~/.xinitrc, then this is behaving correctly. The server terminates when that script completes.
