The xserver is enabling clone mode by default (both outputs being drive by the same crtc). Take a look at the output of xrandr --verbose. they try something like: xrandr --output VGA-0 --crtc 1 --mode 1280x1024 ok stupid me, works with --mode and --crtc stupid me |
