Description John Steele Scott 2007-02-17 18:30:17 UTC
This bug is against server-1.3-branch of xserver, master branch of the radeon driver.

X detects that I have an external monitor, but it does not give me any picture on that monitor. The monitor remains in powersaving mode. This monitor is attached to the external VGA output on my iBook G4 (Radeon 9200).

This used to work for me with the xserver and radeon driver in Ubuntu Edgy, and in Dapper before that.

"radeontool dac on" does not have any effect.

output of radeontool regmatch "*"

This is a more complete radeontool dump using radeontool-hacked. (The radeontool in debian does not have a "regmatch" switch.)

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
Comment 6 Alex Deucher 2007-08-31 08:20:40 UTC
the ibooks use the tvdac for output rather than the primary dac as the driver defaults to. I've fixed this in ati git. Please try the latest code from ati git with the following option:

Option "MacModel" "ibook"

Reopen if you are still having issues.
