Description Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn 2007-04-02 05:24:32 UTC
System: Acer Aspire 5022WLMi, Mobility Radeon X700 PCIe, X.org 7.2

Using xf86-video-ati 6.6.191 and radeonfb: When UseFBDev is enabled, the presence of an external CRT will cause the X server to crash on startup.

Interestingly, MergedFB is disabled, yet appears in the log before the crash.

With the patch from bug 10442 the log output changes, but still the X server throws an error and quits.

Does it work with Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,NONE"?
Comment 6 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn 2007-04-02 07:14:05 UTC
It turns out that even fbset gives the error "FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO: Invalid argument"

So probably the problem is radeonfb. Sorry for the noise.
