under nouveau when glxgears is initially started gears spin at a reasonable speed for an estimated 0.5-1.0seconds then they slow down and become jerkey as if they are being rendered by mesa software.

glxinfo reports that Marcheu's mesa is running.

Start gears from gnome terminal, black rectangle is drawn (no window decorations or gears), Xorg locks up and get dropped back to tty before gdm restarts Xorg.

Will attach kernel logs and Xorg log from starting the X session which eventually crashed.

Similar lockup and X crash with Option "RandR12" "true".
Comment 18 Pekka Paalanen 2009-08-08 03:42:38 UTC
Closing as invalid.

This is pre-Gallium3D, which is dead now. Also randr 1.2 cannot be turned off anymore.
