Description John Spray 2007-07-03 12:39:48 UTC
Problem occurs with the following file:
http://dl.alphaworks.ibm.com/technologies/cellsw/cellFMwhitepaper.pdf

A few parts of page headers are drawn, the rest of the document appears blank. Works with adobe reader.

Screenshot to follow.

Using poppler 0.5.4 (cairo) with evince 0.8.1

Any chance you can try with 0.5.9 ?
Comment 3 John Spray 2007-07-04 14:26:46 UTC
Have tried with 0.5.9: reproduced identically.
Comment 4 Albert Astals Cid 2007-07-06 03:28:32 UTC
Works here with poppler cvs test programs gtk-splash-test gtk-cairo-test and test-poppler-qt4
Comment 5 John Spray 2007-07-06 03:46:27 UTC
For me, (poppler 0.5.9) the first page* is drawn correctly with gtk-splash-test, but gtk-cairo-test gives an error that just says "Error loading cellFMwhitepaper.pdf".

 - Could be a cairo-specific problem?
 - Since I only see the first page with gtk-splash-test it could be something on a subsequent page that's causing the problem?

* gtk-cairo-test crashes when I try to use the --page option, but I guess this is unrelated (I'm not filing a bug on it since it's not a user-visible program).
Comment 6 Albert Astals Cid 2007-07-06 07:36:54 UTC
gtk-splash-test does not have support for more than one page as far as i remember.
gtk-cairo-test has the weirdest file opening scheme and you have to type file:///home/foo/bar
Comment 7 John Spray 2007-07-06 09:05:31 UTC
Okay, when I give gtk-cairo-test a full URI it loads, but renders with the same problem as evince, while gtk-splash-test works.

This is all built with jhbuild and the gnome-2.20 moduleset: cairo version is 1.4.10.
Comment 8 Albert Astals Cid 2007-07-07 07:43:11 UTC
Cairo 1.4.2 here
Comment 9 Brad Hards 2007-12-01 00:22:53 UTC
Appears to be a cairo-backend / cairo problem.
Comment 10 Jeff Muizelaar 2007-12-02 19:37:55 UTC
This works fine for me. I expect it is a duplicate of 9846 and is fixed by using a newer version of cairo
