Description Thomas Wolfe 2007-08-25 17:47:59 UTC
Changing from the old 6.6.193 to the new 6.7.191 driver and nothing else causes compiz to be dead slow. skimming thru the log I don't see anything wrong. I am using EXA.

Please attach (as opposed to paste) the full Xorg.0.log file for both cases.

Does restricting the maximum virtual size using

        Virtual 1400 1050

in SubSection "Display" help?
Comment 5 Thomas Wolfe 2007-08-27 23:16:37 UTC
I had
Virtual 2048 2048
for a bit, (think i read it on think-wiki) and it did not change anything. I will install the 6.7 driver again and try sometime soon and report back with it set at 1400 1050

Yes, that fixed it for me, thanks!
Comment 7 Michel Dänzer 2007-09-19 12:22:05 UTC
So the default maximum virtual size seems to use up too much video RAM for you.
Comment 8 Alex Deucher 2007-09-19 12:37:59 UTC
I've reduced the default sizes in git a bit. I haven't had a chance to look into any alternative options yet.
