Description Thomas Pani 2007-09-12 06:33:12 UTC
I'm experiencing reproducible Xorg lockups after upgrading to xf86-video-ati-6.7.192 when starting compiz (0.5.2). Lockups freeze everything, I have to do a hard reboot after.
However, I got compiz working after downgrading to 6.6.193.

I'm unsure which further information to submit, Xorg.log is clean AFAICT.

You should try with current git master. Its latest commit (0241cac643fa1c08a45ea44f5c670b290e760ad8) seemed to help for me. I got very few lockups recently, the only one I remember of occured when rotating the cube while glxgears was running (while I got lots of lockups with plain Compiz before this commit).

Alright, got it working with current git master.
That makes this a regression introduced after 6.6.193, present in 6.7.192, but fixed between 6.7.192 and commit 0241cac643fa1c08a45ea44f5c670b290e760ad8.
