While remotely connected to a RHES 5 server form a WinXP system I enter the following

[kenneyw@beast ~]Display=nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:0.0; export DISPLAY
[kenneyw@beast ~]xclock
works fine, next

[kenneyw@beast ~]$ gedit
Error: Cairo does not yet support the requested image format:
        Depth: 8
        Alpha mask: 0x00000000
        Red   mask: 0x00000000
        Green mask: 0x00000000
        Blue  mask: 0x00000000

vi works ok but sometines I want a graphical editor, can you help?

This works on RHAS 2.1, 3 & 4

Mass closing of 8-/15-/16-/32-bit unsupported image formats as these should now all work in 1.6.0. Please test and reopen if you have any issues.
