When i boot my linux kernel through efi the radeonhd driver results in a fancy colored picture. the same kernel booted through csm and the driver works correctly.

Does it look like in bug #13474 or #13477?
Comment 3 Thomas Meyer 2007-12-01 04:54:36 UTC
No. Not even similar. It looks more like fading colors. On your picture you can even recognize fonts and windows. on my screen only fance, funky, fading colors.

macboo
Comment 5 Egbert Eich 2008-02-04 14:23:15 UTC
We've exchanged some emails regarding your system. One problem seems to be that due to the lack of a BIOS image the panel doesn't get set correctly.
Have you tried to reproduce the problem on an external display attached to the macbook?
Hrm, where is the NEEDINFO state?

Comment 10 Jeremy Huddleston Sequoia 2011-10-16 15:59:54 UTC
Does this issue occur with the preferred ati driver (xf86-vide-ati)? If so, please move this to the Driver/Radeon component.

Development of radeonhd has pretty much halted and development focus is on the ati driver. Please see http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd

If the issue does not exist in the ati driver (or if there is no response to this message), this bug will be closed as WONTFIX unless someone contributes a patch.
Comment 11 Jeremy Huddleston Sequoia 2011-11-07 15:09:17 UTC
Closing due to lack of response. Please reopen and move to the Driver/Radeon
component if this issue persists with xf86-video-ati
